The BMW 1M is a compact performance vehicle that remains highly regarded and continues to gain recognition as an instant classic and benchmark of driving enjoyment. The manual transmission and rear-wheel drive configuration maintained the tradition of pure driving. The popular 1M is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six engine that made 340 hp. At just 1,500 rpm, the engine delivers 450 Nm of torque. The engine will reach its maximum thanks to the help of the overboost function, with a further 50Nm available at short notice. The 1M could go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and had an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Its bold look came from flared arches over 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels and redesigned front and rear sections. The 1M also borrowed parts from the M3, such as the lightweight suspension and large brakes.
