Description
In 1989, Nissan revived the GT-R name after a 16-year hiatus with the introduction of the Skyline R32 GT-R, developed specifically to excel in Group A Class Racing. The model featured a purpose-built RB26DETT 2.6-liter inline six-cylinder DOHC twin-turbocharged engine, producing a maximum output of 280 PS and 353 Nm of torque. Its ATTESA E-TS electronically controlled torque-split four-wheel-drive system optimizes power delivery to all wheels. The R32 GT-R was also equipped with a four-wheel multilink suspension and the HICAS four-wheel steering system, which enhanced its handling capabilities. These technical advancements established the R32 GT-R as one of the highest-performing sedan-based sports cars globally. The model earned the nickname “Godzilla” after achieving 29 consecutive victories in the Japan Touring Car Championship from 1990 to 1993 and gaining international acclaim at events such as the Spa-Francorchamps 24 Hours.
The R32-generation Nissan Skyline GT-R is regarded as an iconic modern classic among Japanese performance vehicles. This example is presented in the highly sought-after Gun Grey Metallic finish, and a largely original example such as this represents a valuable addition to any collection of JDM performance cars.
